Weddings: Dayna and Dylan

Shooting Dayna and Dylan's wedding was a very special experience for me, because Dayna is my older sister. These two are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet, and I am so happy to welcome Dylan into my life as my brother.

Their wedding had a few fun elements including lego centre-pieces! Dayna works as a kindergarden and first-grade teacher...and is likely to get bored herself. Dylan, AKA: Ultimate Gamer Extrordinaire, loaded up a fully stocked board-game table for people who didn't feel like dancing the night away. Needless to say, these two took care of their guests - and that isn't surprising, because that is the way that these two are. Dylan and Dayna are thoughtful, others-focused, and ready to be part of the team. So in summary, these are sweet people.

Another fun part of their wedding was the first look. Dayna and Dylan met in University, where they were both studying theatre. They also worked together in Historic Barkerville as street interpreters and actors, so for their first look location, they chose Historic Fort Langley. I love their first look on the Fort Langley wall.

Thanks for being so awesome D&D. I love being your sister :)

Special thanks for the people who helped me photograph this day: Chris Montgomery, Adam Knowlson, Tricia Coleman, and Mindy Black.

Aaaaaandd..... did I mention that they (maybe just Dylan) is what you might call a "Star Wars Enthusiast"?

So we also created this picture.

Weddings: Luke & Alivia

This wedding was a special one. I feel that way about each wedding I shoot, but this wedding took me back to a place that I hadn't visited for a long time: Camp Squeah. I worked as a youth leader for many years, and every year we took the youth on a retreat to Camp Squeah. When I met with Luke and Alivia to talk through the details of their wedding and they told me that they were having their wedding in this special place, I think my excitement in general doubled. I immediately had flashbacks to camp games, camp songs, and wonderful camp times.

Alivia's family has been involved in Camp Squeah for many years. When I first arrived at camp and met her parents they told me that they met there! Not only that, but her aunt and uncle also met there. Alivia attended camp as a camper for many years and has continued to be involved in camp as an adult. What a special place!

Luke and Alivia's wedding took on an adventure theme - and I foresee wonderful adventures in their future! Mountains, forests, and the great outdoors were all part of this special day. Thanks for including us in it too! Congratulations on your new marriage, L&A, and thanks for inviting us to Squeah!
